Our Students
There are about 100 students at ETC Palmerston North, and 70 students at ETC Wellington. Most of them study full-time, and many of them intend to do further studies at polytechnics or universities in New Zealand. In general there are mainly two streams at ETC; an academic stream, and the other is a non-academic (general English) stream. Some students start from the non-academic stream, and move up to the academic stream.
For those who are in the academic stream, they will have a test every week, and also the IELTS mock exam every month. Many ETC students have achieved well on the IELTS exam, and they are now studying at polytechnic, university or working all over the world.
The students who are in the non-academic stream study general English and classes are focused on communication and speaking skills.
In addition to the studies, we have a lot of cultural and sports activities. We go skiing, canoeing or visit beautiful gardens. It is a great opportunity for the students to mix with the other students, and make more friends.
