English and Farm

New Zealand is known as the country with more sheep than men. Truth to be told! But besides sheep farms there are plenty of other agricultural and rural places to live in, work at or explore.

AND: New Zealanders are famously hospitable people with a lively interest in other cultures. An education here is frequently the beginning of lifelong friendships. Thus our school in Palmerston North and Wellington combine English studies with farmstay or farmwork experiences.

The programme

Students study English at ETC. Courses to choose from are General English, Academic English and exam preparation. They have the option to either pay for their accommodation on a farm while they are studying or get placed into farmwork once they have finished their studies.

In Wellington students can choose to book a farmstay acitivity programme with activities such as quad bike riding, tractor riding, target shooting, animal feeding, horseback riding, flying foxes and many more.

Generally we work with all types of farms: Lifestyle, sheep, dairy, fruit, vegetable farms or vineyards all over New Zealand.
